Graphing

In Maths we have been collecting data and making bar graphs. Well done class for being focused and on-task.

Pottery Studio visit

Yesterday Mrs Wistrand and some parents took the children to visit Chris Lewis' pottery studio at Blacks Point. This was part of the Science and Art topics for this term.
Thanks Chris for letting us come, and thanks to the parents who helped with transport and supervision.

Autumn

Choral reading and artworks about autumn. We tried hard to read together and speak clearly.
We made our artworks with Mrs Wistrand. We are happy for anyone to add a comment to the VoiceThread on the last page. You could record your voice or type a message.

More Safe Cycling

Today we got to ride our bikes. We made hand signals to turn left, or right, or to stop. We wove in and out of cones. We learned to look over our shoulder to see what traffic is behind us. And we had a 'slow' race to practice balancing well on our bikes. Geneva won that!
Best of all we got to ride up and over a plank and then a ladder.

'What Now' comes to Reefton

We were very excited that the TV show 'What Now' came to Reefton today. Weren't Miss Jackson and Mrs Webb brave to take part in 'Pack your Pants'! Everyone wanted some gunge. Watch out for the programme on June 13.
Do you think we might learn how to make gunge in our science topic 'Things that Ooze, Slime and Harden'?
Can you think what ingredients we might need to use?

Our School Sign

The Reefton Area School sign shows you what the school is called. The logo shows the mountains and Inangahua river and a lamp-post. Reefton is the town of light. It had the first public electricity in the southern hemisphere.
By Courtney and Myah.

Classroom Reporters

This term the children are taking turns to report on events around the school.
Myah and Courtney are our first reporters. Let's see what they chose for their post.
