A Belated Christmas Greeting Arrives

During our summer holidays a Christmas card arrived for us from Mrs Kathy Rice and her Grade 1 class
in Prince George, BC, Canada.
Look at all the snow!

Thank you Mrs Rice and Grade 1, for the lovely card, photos and letter.
What similarities and differences can you notice in the
games that are played,
favourite summer and winter activities,
and our communities and schools?

Stopping the Summer Reading Slide

At the start of each summer we send home book packs
with each child, then over the summer
we open the school on three days for the children to come in
and swap their books.
Today was the final book swap, as school
starts again in two weeks.
These keen readers were first in the door!

Well done to everyone who has made the effort to read over the summer.

What books have you read this summer?
What else have you enjoyed doing over the summer?

2012 Survey update

Thank you to those who took part in our quick survey on how you say 2012.
The results so far are:
64% of respondents say 'twenty twelve'
30% say 'two thousand and twelve'
and
6% of respondents let me know
that they say 'two thousand twelve'.

Whichever way you say 2012, what would make this year special for you?

How Do You say 2012?

As the new year begins here's a little poll to entertain us:
Do you say 'two thousand and twelve
or do you say 'twenty-twelve'?
